The second rehearsal of Hungarian hopefuls Compact Disco took place on Friday in Baku’s Crystal Hall. The guys seemed really pleased as they were leaving the stage, where they performed Sound Of Our Hearts four times, and this time with pyro effects.
Compact Disco’s visit to Baku is watched with a huge level of interest. The guys are greatly enjoying local hospitality and trying to accommodate every interview request and accept all invitations. On Wednesday they were guests at the local Jazz Club, where they performed in front of Baku’s Hungarian ambassador and his VIP guests, a cheerful local audience and many members of various delegations of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Soviet Union could not take part in Eurovision. It was not a member of the European Broadcasting Union, the club of Western broadcasters that organised the show. But that did not mean that behind the Iron Curtain people did not want to wear sequins and sing their hearts out. Of course they did.
There is a growing level of interest for Compact Disco’s song “Sound of Our Hearts”. As a result, the song and its remixes have been released in numerous European territories: in Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) and in Baltic states (Estonia, Lithuania) by the Swedish label Family Tree Records, in Austria and Germany by the German label “Mole” which also published Yonderboi’s album, in Italy by the publisher called Toco, furthermore in Russia and Bulgaria. Negotiations are going on with independent labels in the Benelux states, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Mexico. It is a curiosity that besides Europe the single will be released in South-Africa as well.
Hungary’s Eurovision contestants went to Szombathely to meet their Austrian counterpart Trackshittaz on Thursday, and welcomed the Albanian contestant Rona Nishliu at the Hungarian Television on Friday. The group will jet to the United Kingdom tomorrow where they will give a live performance to Hungarians living in the UK’s capital city at the London Eurovision Party.

Hungary is going to start the national selection for Eurovision 2012 tonight. The first semifinal starts on 20:15 CET and can watch all around the world and also all the people in the world can vote! Tonight BAYER Friderika will perform her Eurovision entry from 1994 that is the biggest achievement of Hungary in the Contest. 10 semifinalists will compete in the show. A 4-membered jury will send 3 songs, the audience will be the 5th jury member to send one more song to the big final.
